Our Classes
SPIN
EXPECTATION: Spin classes are geared toward improving your cardiovascular endurance and building your lower body strength. Hills, climbs, sprints and endurance drills will work to advance your power and stamina all while moving to the beat of a playlist designed to entertain you.
VS REALITY: The overhead lights get turned down, the music gets turned up! Club lighting surrounds you as that pre-party exhilaration fills the room. Instructors call out easy to follow instructions that have you moving with intension, dancing along to songs that you love. Music tracks pump out the bass that provide the beat for you to match with your feet. Is it a night club? Is it a fitness class? Who cares what the label is! The point is to surrender yourself to the music and the workout. Working independently but synchronizing with your group, you will be racing past any self-imposed restrictions on what you think you are capable of accomplishing. Riders come out on the other side of class drenched with sweat, energized and ready to smash the rest of their day.
WHAT TO EXPECT: Both the expectation and the reality! New riders will be given a five minute welcome session with the instructor. Please ensure if you are a new rider, that you arrive early enough to have time for this before class starts. They will go through how to set up your bike to ensure you are ready for success. Classes are done in near darkness, and the music is loud. (We supply earplugs if it is too loud for you!) Instructors run drills based on how fast the beat of the music is, and your goal is to match the rhythm of the music with the pedalling of your feet. Everything is explained by the instructor on a microphone. Instructors will encourage you to add appropriate tension, but it is ultimately up to each individual rider how much tension is added. You measure how much tension you want to dial in with your feet, and your heart! Each class will include two weight tracks to improve core stability, balance and upper body strength. To finish the class, the instructor will take the group through a cool down and stretch. Each participant will wipe down their bike and any equipment used before leaving class. Sweat towelswill be provided at the start of class and a cool face cloth will be provided at the end.
HIIT
High intensity interval training classes will not be all high intensity- don’t worry! Geared toward all fitness levels, each class will be a different combination of functional fitness moves. The idea is to increase your stability, mobility, endurance, power, and strength through an array of moves using weights, bands, steps and a variety of other fitness training tools. Instructors will explain each move and demonstrate it, so you know exactly what to do, and will always be nearby to offer a modification if needed.
WHAT TO EXPECT: When you enter the HIIT room, you will check the board that lists the day’s workout. You will grab a mat and any equipment required. The instructor will run through the workout, explaining how to do the move and the reps, sets and timing for each exercise. A timer will be displayed, letting you know how long the set or station will last. Lighting is kept low and music will be playing to encourage you and pump you up. High fives are encouraged! Classes last approx. 50 min and then the instructor will lead the class through a cool down and stretch. Each participant will wipe down their mat and any equipment used before leaving class. Sweat towels will be provided at the start of class. A cool facecloth will be offered at the end of class, you earned it!
SPIIT
The best of both worlds! This is a class that combines spin and HIIT, so classes will be a variety of both cardio on the bike and resistance training off the bike. Every single class will be different- more or less time on the bike or floor, different sets, reps, timing, style. The aim is to keep it fun, keep it fresh and keep you guessing what the next class holds in store.
WHAT TO EXPECT: New members will receive a five minute welcome session with the instructor – please ensure you arrive early enough to have time for this. The instructor will run through the bike set up with you, making sure you are set up for success. Once class starts the instructor will verbally run through the outline of the class, and classes will always start on the bike as a warm up for the rest of the class. Lighting is always kept low and music is always pumping! After the warm up on the bike the session will vary, with each day being a completely new and different format of the class. Werk will take place both on and off the bike. This is a great way to get both resistance training and cardio training into a session but keep it fun, interesting and different every time! Classes run approx. 50 minutes and then the instructor will lead the class through a cool down and stretch. Each participant will wipe down their bike and any equipment used before leaving class. Sweat towels provided- you are going to need it! A cool facecloth will also be offered at the end of class- relax and enjoy it while basking in the warmth of your hard work.
